Hello and welcome!

About Phyllis Douglass

I’m Phyllis Douglass, a Massage Therapist specializing in Integrative Mind-Body Release Therapy with a focus on the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach and Functional Movement Reeducation. I am also a Harmonic Sound Therapist, Energy Medicine Practitioner, Certified Pilates Trainer (CPT), Yoga Teacher (ERYT 200), Shamanic Practitioner (Toltec), Musician and Vocalist, Ordained Minister, Mother, Wife, and Road Biker!

The 5 Key Elements of Optimal Health found within my practice are breath (how well and consciously we breathe), fuel (food choices and water), rest (sleep patterns, relaxation, and recovery),  fitness (exercise, movement, flexibility, and range of motion), and frequency (vibrational efficiency and energy flow).

My clients call me the “Body Whisperer” and I am an Omnidimensional Healer. What I accomplish within a session is undeniable, but how I progress through a session and the techniques that I use are sometimes undefinable.

The central component of my work assists the restructuring and healing of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies in a unified and gentle way through deep relaxation, the release of resistance and restriction, release of pain and inflammation, and the unwinding of old patterns associated with injury, repetitive movements, emotions, and trauma — relieving not only the symptoms, but the root cause of the symptoms.

I ask for higher facilitation and guidance, and listen to what your body and field of energy has to say. Your body ‘speaks’ in many ways through postural misalignment, energy reverberations, tension and restriction, temperature fluctuation, resistance, the way you move and speak, and the registers that occur in the body as I work – rapid eye movement, twitching, change in breathing, shaking, and spontaneous movement.

During an ambient Sound Therapy session, tools such as a singing bowl, tuning fork or bell, allow me to hear fluctuations in the resonance of the instrument over compromised areas of the body.

We all have the innate ability to heal ourselves! With the stress of outside stimulus and challenges that we all face on physical, emotional and spiritual levels, we are often not able to get to that place of least resistance on our own. Within this space of least resistance, when the mind and body are brought to the best state of alignment possible in the moment, our innate ability to heal ourselves seizes the moment — and this is where miracles happen. Large and small. Every level of our being strives for optimal alignment against all odds. The flow of our energy systems are always fluctuating and shifting in an attempt to maintain a state of homeostasis. When for various reasons — physical, emotional, mental, environmental and/or spiritual — this attempt is unsuccessful, the flow of energy through our chakras, meridians, and individual frequencies of our various parts, can become distorted, blocked, and stagnation and dis-ease can occur.

Be blessed and joy-full! I look forward to working with you, and co-creating the extraordinary life experience you desire and deserve!

Educational Background

“I have studied a variety of things, with a variety of people throughout the world after graduate school. I held on to some things, discarded most, and evolved and/or further developed what I chose to keep so that it worked for me and benefited my clients. I continue to read, create, study and explore so that my life and work is never stagnant.”
